New nasal spray aims to tame Life-Threatening hunger in rare genetic disorder

NCT ID NCT06173531

Summary

This study is testing whether a carbetocin nasal spray can reduce the constant, extreme hunger (hyperphagia) that is the most challenging symptom of Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). About 170 participants, aged 5 to 30, will use the spray or a placebo for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if the spray helps caregivers report a meaningful decrease in food-seeking behaviors and overeating.
