Nasal splint may improve tear duct surgery outcomes
NCT ID NCT07605026
First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at 150 adults who had endoscopic tear duct surgery (DCR) to fix a blocked tear duct causing watery eyes or infections. Half got a small internal nasal splint during surgery, half did not. The goal was to see if the splint helps prevent scarring and keeps the new tear duct open, improving symptoms and reducing complications.
