NCT ID NCT03549325

First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated Apr 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study aimed to gather information to help design a future nasal spray vaccine to prevent meningitis. Healthy adult volunteers had a harmless bacteria placed in their nose to see how their immune system responded when the bacteria was cleared after 4 days versus 14 days. The goal was to learn how long the bacteria needs to be present to trigger a good immune response, which is a key step for developing an effective vaccine.
