Summary

This study gathers health data from 100 newborns—80 with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) and 20 healthy—to train an artificial intelligence (AI) system. The AI aims to automatically score NAS symptoms and predict when medication is needed, replacing current subjective methods. The goal is to improve care and shorten hospital stays for these babies.
