Smaller implants may spare patients from extra jaw surgery
NCT ID NCT06221306
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether narrow dental implants work as well as standard ones for people who have lost some jawbone width. The goal is to see if narrow implants can avoid the need for extra bone-grafting surgery, which is more invasive and costly. About 28 adults with missing back teeth and a narrow jaw ridge will be randomly assigned to receive either narrow or standard implants, and bone loss around the implant will be tracked over time.
