Tiny particles supercharge radiation against tough tumors

NCT ID NCT04784221

Summary

This study aimed to test whether injecting special nanoparticles could make proton radiation therapy more effective against recurrent cancers in areas that were previously irradiated. The treatment was intended for adults with specific, hard-to-treat tumors in the head, neck, or spine that had come back after earlier radiation. The trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
