First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a pain medicine called nalbuphine can prevent dangerous spikes in blood pressure and heart rate when a breathing tube is placed during anesthesia. 107 adults having elective surgery received either nalbuphine or a placebo before the procedure. Researchers measured blood pressure and heart rate to see if nalbuphine helped keep these numbers stable.
