Summary

This study tested whether the pain medicine nalbuphine can prevent sudden rises in blood pressure and heart rate when a breathing tube is placed during anesthesia. 107 adults having elective surgery were randomly given nalbuphine or a placebo before the procedure. Researchers measured blood pressure changes to see if nalbuphine helps keep the heart and blood vessels stable during this routine but stressful step.
