Scientists map the fat in diseased livers

NCT ID NCT00983463

Summary

This study aims to learn more about nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a common liver condition linked to obesity and diabetes. Researchers will analyze small pieces of liver tissue from 45 adults who are already having abdominal surgery. By measuring the specific fats and proteins in the liver, they hope to understand what makes the disease more severe.
