Scientists hunt for early warning sign of kidney crisis in ICU

NCT ID NCT07203131

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple urine test can predict which critically ill patients are most likely to develop sudden kidney failure. Researchers will measure a specific metabolic marker (the Q/T ratio) in 150 adult patients when they are first admitted to intensive care. The goal is to understand if this marker is linked to kidney problems, which could help doctors identify at-risk patients earlier.
