Summary

This study tests whether adding N-acetylcysteine (NAC) to standard steroid treatment helps people with severe alcoholic hepatitis live longer and have fewer complications. About 390 adults aged 18-75 with a high Maddrey score will be enrolled. The goal is to see if the combination reduces deaths and serious issues like infections or liver failure over 6 months.
