Summary
This study tests a program called "Need to Be Needed" for adults with serious mental illness who feel lonely or isolated. Participants are randomly assigned to either a group that sets volunteering goals with a coach or a group that just gets supportive listening. The goal is to see if helping others can boost feelings of mattering and reduce loneliness over six months.
