Scientists map muscle decline to pave way for future treatments

NCT ID NCT07362316

Summary

This study aims to understand how muscle function changes over time in adults with myotonic dystrophy type 1, a genetic muscle-wasting disease. Researchers will closely track 30 patients for three years using specialized tests to measure strength, movement, and fatigue. The goal is to identify the most reliable ways to measure the disease, which will help design better future trials for potential treatments.
