New glasses lenses aim to stop kids from becoming nearsighted
NCT ID NCT07535658
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether special glasses lenses can prevent nearsightedness (myopia) in children aged 6 to 8 who are not yet nearsighted. About 255 children will wear either a new type of lens or a standard lens for at least 8 hours a day for one year. Researchers will check their eyes every 3 months to see if the lenses slow down changes that lead to myopia.
