New lenses aim to slow Kids' nearsightedness

NCT ID NCT06563700

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether special new spectacle lenses can slow the worsening of nearsightedness (myopia) in children. About 342 kids aged 7 to 13 will wear either the new lenses or standard single-vision glasses for one year, then all switch to the new lenses for another year. The goal is to see if the new lenses reduce how much the eye lengthens and how much the prescription changes.
