New glasses aim to halt Kids' worsening eyesight

NCT ID NCT07394556

Summary

This study aims to see if new 'open ring' eyeglass lens designs can slow the progression of nearsightedness in children better than a standard myopia control lens. It will involve 180 European children aged 6-12, who will be randomly assigned to wear one of the different lens types for all waking hours over two years. Researchers will measure changes in the children's eye prescriptions and eye length to determine which lens is most effective at controlling myopia.
