Bright light, special glasses, or eye drops: which best slows Kids' nearsightedness?

NCT ID NCT04923841

Summary

This study is testing several methods to slow the worsening of nearsightedness (myopia) in children. Researchers are comparing bright light therapy, special 'defocus' spectacle lenses, low-dose atropine eye drops, and combinations of these treatments. About 580 children in Hong Kong, aged 7-12, will use their assigned treatment for two years while doctors track changes in their vision and eye length.
