Text neck relief: simple massage technique tested in students
NCT ID NCT07444112
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether myofascial release therapy—a type of hands-on muscle treatment—can reduce neck pain, stress, and improve posture in university students with text neck syndrome. 62 participants will receive either the therapy or standard care for 4 weeks. Researchers will measure pain, stress levels, and head posture before and after treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Myofascial release therapy (a hands-on physical therapy technique)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-invasive way to reduce neck pain and stress from heavy phone use.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 62 students, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy may not outperform standard care.
