First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This pilot study explores whether weekly group music therapy sessions can improve emotional well-being for older adults living in long-term care facilities. Twenty residents aged 65 and older will attend six weekly hour-long music sessions and complete questionnaires about their mood and loneliness. Researchers will also use an AI system to analyze facial expressions during sessions, comparing them with residents' own reports to see if technology can help measure emotional changes.
