First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a personalized music program for people who wear hearing aids but are unhappy with how music sounds. Researchers will create a custom frequency profile for each participant and add it to their hearing aids as a dedicated music setting. The trial includes 66 adults, half musicians and half non-musicians, to see if the new program improves listening quality and emotional response compared to standard settings.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could give hearing aid users a dedicated music setting that makes listening to music more enjoyable and emotionally rewarding.
What could go wrong
The trial is small (66 participants) and the benefit may vary between individuals. The customized program might not work equally well for all users or music genres.
