First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at whether music can help children aged 6-9 feel less anxious and experience less pain during a routine dental procedure called fissure sealant application. 90 children each received three treatments: one in silence, one with classical music chosen by the dentist, and one with their own favorite song. The researchers measured anxiety, heart rate, and pain before and after each treatment to compare the effects.
