Scientists study how to make music beautiful again for cochlear implant users
NCT ID NCT04099368
Summary
This study explored how people who have received cochlear implants learn to appreciate music again after hearing loss. Researchers worked with 120 teenage and adult cochlear implant users to understand the challenges they face with music and to test whether special pitch training could improve both music enjoyment and speech understanding. The goal was to gather knowledge that could lead to better implant programming and rehabilitation strategies to improve quality of life.
