Vibrating muscles to ease stroke spasms: a new hope?

NCT ID NCT05315726

First seen Feb 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether gentle muscle vibration can prevent or reduce muscle stiffness (spasticity) in people who recently had a stroke. Researchers will compare standard rehabilitation plus vibration versus standard rehab plus a placebo vibration in 100 early-stage stroke patients. The goal is to see if vibration improves movement and brain recovery during the first few months after a stroke.
