Can a simple scan predict your surgery risks?

NCT ID NCT07098871

Summary

This study aims to see if measuring the thickness of a patient's stomach and breathing muscles before surgery for stomach or bowel cancers can help predict who is more likely to have complications after the operation. Researchers will use an ultrasound scan to measure these muscles in 300 patients before their surgery and then track their recovery for 30 days. The goal is to find a simple way to identify high-risk patients so doctors can plan their care better.
