Gym science: does arm angle build more muscle?

NCT ID NCT07360236

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doing a lat pulldown (arms overhead) or a lat row (arms at a right angle) leads to more muscle growth in the back and arms. Twenty healthy adults who already lift weights will train each arm with a different exercise for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure muscle size with MRI and strength with weight tests to see which angle works best.
