Scientists probe if 'Good Enough' exercise builds muscle in seniors

NCT ID NCT07410299

Summary

This study aims to understand if older adults can get the muscle-building benefits of resistance training by stopping at a point of moderate discomfort, rather than pushing to complete muscle failure. Researchers will measure muscle activity in 15 participants aged 60-80 as they perform bodyweight exercises like squats and push-ups. The goal is to see if a less strenuous approach could make strength training more appealing and accessible for older people.
