Do you need to push to failure? study tests easier exercise for seniors
NCT ID NCT07410299
First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This pilot study looks at how many extra repetitions older adults can do after first feeling moderate muscle discomfort until they can't continue with proper form. Researchers want to know if stopping at a comfortable point still gives the same muscle benefits as training to failure. Fifteen adults aged 60-80 will do bodyweight squats and push-ups while their muscle activity is measured.
