Exercise sparks muscle-to-fat chat in tiny bubbles

NCT ID NCT04500769

First seen Jan 14, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at tiny particles called extracellular vesicles that muscles release after a single workout. Researchers wanted to see if these particles carry signals to fat tissue in young, healthy, and obese adults. 38 participants did one session of resistance exercise, and scientists measured changes in these particles and fat cells. The goal was to understand how muscle and fat communicate, not to test a treatment.
