New hope for Tough-to-Treat blood cancer: major trial tests promising drug combo

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a new drug called mezigdomide to a standard two-drug therapy works better for people with multiple myeloma that has returned or stopped responding to treatment. About 525 participants who have had at least one prior treatment, including specific medications, will receive either the new three-drug combination or the standard two-drug regimen. Researchers will measure how long patients live without their cancer getting worse, overall survival, side effects, and quality of life.
