Tailored stents aim to tame deadly aneurysms
NCT ID NCT03295682
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested custom-made multi-branch stent grafts in 47 people with thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms that standard devices couldn't treat. The grafts were designed to fit each patient's unique anatomy. The main goal was to see if the aneurysm shrank or stayed the same size one year after the procedure.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
multi-branch stent graft tailored to the patient's anatomy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a safe, custom treatment option for complex aortic aneurysms that cannot be treated with standard devices.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed registry with only 47 patients and no control group. Results may not apply to all patients, and risks like rupture or need for reintervention remain.
