Could sticky mucus cause permanent lung damage?
NCT ID NCT07236541
Summary
This study aims to understand if mucus blockages in the airways of people with COPD lead to permanent lung scarring (fibrosis). Researchers will compare lung tissue samples from 20 people with and without COPD who are having surgery for lung cancer. The goal is to see if more mucus is linked to more scarring and to explore the biological pathways involved.
