First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether mucus plugs in the airways of people with COPD can lead to lung scarring (fibrosis). Researchers will collect lung tissue and mucus from 20 patients during lung cancer surgery. By comparing samples from COPD and non-COPD patients, they hope to understand if mucus plugs are a cause of fibrosis and find new treatment targets.
