Summary

This study tests an experimental drug called MT-7117 in 165 people aged 12 to 75 who have erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP) or X-linked protoporphyria (XLP), conditions that cause severe pain from sunlight exposure. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers measure how long they can stay in the sun before feeling burning, tingling, itching, or stinging. The goal is to see if MT-7117 can safely increase pain-free sun exposure time.
