New scan maps spinal tumors for safer surgery

NCT ID NCT05957679

Summary

This study is testing a special type of MRI scan called magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) to see if it can help surgeons plan spinal tumor operations. The scan aims to measure how stiff a tumor is and how stuck it is to surrounding healthy tissue before surgery. This information could help surgeons choose the best and safest way to remove the tumor. The study will enroll about 20 people who are already scheduled for spinal cord tumor surgery.
