New scan could replace painful liver biopsies for disease diagnosis
NCT ID NCT04054310
Summary
This study is testing a special type of MRI scan to see if it can accurately diagnose a serious liver condition called NASH (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis). Researchers want to see if this scan can identify patients who have both significant liver inflammation and scarring, which currently requires a painful needle biopsy to confirm. The goal is to develop a better, non-invasive way to screen patients for clinical trials and treatment.
