New brain scan aims to solve MS diagnosis puzzle in aging
NCT ID NCT07444047
Summary
This study is testing whether a special type of MRI scan, called Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM), can help doctors better tell the difference between brain damage caused by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and damage caused by normal aging or small blood vessel disease in people aged 50-70. It will involve 1,000 participants who will get the new scan along with standard tests. The goal is to make MRI results clearer so doctors can more accurately understand what's happening in the brains of older adults with MS.
