New scan could reveal hidden cancer danger before surgery

NCT ID NCT07269912

Summary

This study aims to test if a new, detailed analysis of a special type of MRI scan can better predict whether a patient's rectal cancer has started to invade nearby blood or lymph vessels before surgery. This information is crucial because it helps doctors decide if a patient needs more aggressive treatment after surgery to prevent the cancer from coming back. The study will enroll 400 patients to see if this scan can accurately predict cancer spread and long-term outcomes.
