Brain drainage crisis? new scan method aims to spot shunt failures faster

NCT ID NCT07172841

Summary

This study aims to find better ways to diagnose when a shunt (a drainage tube in the brain) gets blocked in adults with hydrocephalus. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure fluid changes and check blood markers in 60 patients. They will temporarily simulate a blockage in some patients to see how it affects scans, symptoms, and blood tests.
