New scan could replace painful biopsy for early kidney disease
NCT ID NCT06202235
Summary
This study is testing a non-invasive MRI technique called elastography to detect early scarring (fibrosis) in the kidneys of people with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The goal is to see if this scan can identify damage before kidney function declines, potentially offering a safer alternative to invasive biopsies. Researchers will follow 200 participants for at least two years to see if the scan results can predict how their kidney disease will progress.
