Heart scan may reveal who really needs a pacemaker

NCT ID NCT07336225

Summary

This study aims to see if a special heart MRI scan can help doctors better predict which patients will benefit from implanted heart devices like pacemakers and defibrillators. Researchers will look at MRI scans from 1,500 adults who are already scheduled to get a device, then track their health outcomes for years. The goal is to find MRI patterns that show who is most at risk for dangerous heart rhythms or heart failure, helping doctors make more informed decisions about who should receive these devices.
