Do brain radiotherapy masks mess up MRI scans? small study finds out

NCT ID NCT06994702

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the special masks used to hold the head still during brain radiotherapy affect the quality of MRI scans needed for treatment planning. Three healthy volunteers had MRI scans with and without the masks to see if the masks caused any problems. The goal was to improve how doctors plan radiation treatments using only MRI, without needing a separate CT scan.
