Special MRI could be key to fixing infected knee implants

NCT ID NCT07208968

Summary

This study looked back at 28 patients with infected partial knee replacements to see if a special type of MRI scan could help surgeons make better decisions. The special MRI reduces interference from metal implants to give a clearer picture of the infection. Researchers checked if using this scan to guide the choice of surgery led to better infection control and knee function for the patients.
