Brain scans could help doctors predict coma recovery

NCT ID NCT03308305

Summary

This study aimed to see if early MRI brain scans could better predict which comatose patients will recover brain function after a cardiac arrest. Researchers followed 94 patients, performing scans at set times to look for patterns of brain damage. The goal was to improve the accuracy of prognosis, helping doctors and families make more informed decisions about continuing or withdrawing life support.
