New drug tested to relieve debilitating itch for dialysis patients
NCT ID NCT04711603
Summary
This study tested whether an investigational drug called MR13A9 could reduce severe itching in people receiving hemodialysis for kidney disease. In the first part, 178 participants were randomly assigned to receive either MR13A9 or a placebo (a dummy treatment) for 4 weeks to see which was better. The main goal was to measure the change in the severity of their itching using a standard rating scale.
