New Heart-Zapping tool tested inside MRI scanner

NCT ID NCT05543798

Summary

This study is testing a new medical device designed to treat a dangerous rapid heartbeat called ventricular tachycardia. The device is a special catheter that uses heat energy (radiofrequency ablation) to create small scars on the heart to block faulty electrical signals. The procedure is performed while the patient is inside an MRI scanner, which gives doctors a very clear, real-time picture of the heart. Researchers want to see if this new approach is safe and effective at stopping these life-threatening heart rhythms in people whose condition is linked to damage from a prior heart attack.
