New mouthwash formula tested to fight gum disease

NCT ID NCT06411522

Summary

This study compared two different mouthwash formulas to see which one works better at reducing gum inflammation and preventing gum disease from coming back. 72 people with gingivitis used either a standard 0.12% chlorhexidine mouthwash or a new formula with a lower dose of chlorhexidine plus another ingredient (cetylpyridinium chloride) for one month, alongside professional dental cleaning. Researchers tracked their gum health and blood pressure over six months to see which formula provided better long-term control.
