New mouthwash could beat gold standard for gum health without staining
NCT ID NCT07088666
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tested two mouthwashes in 40 adults with plaque-induced gingivitis (reversible gum disease). One group used the standard chlorhexidine mouthwash, and the other used a new one called MicroRepair ABX. Both were used for 14 days after a professional dental cleaning. The goal was to see if the new mouthwash works as well but causes fewer side effects like tooth staining or taste changes.
