Could your mouthwash be harming your heart? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07356271
Summary
This study aims to find out if popular over-the-counter mouthwashes, while cleaning teeth and gums, might also harm the good bacteria in your mouth and potentially affect heart health. Researchers will test 200 people, with and without gum disease, using different mouthwash ingredients like essential oils and hydrogen peroxide. The goal is to gather real-world evidence to help people and dentists choose mouthwashes that clean effectively without disrupting the mouth's natural balance.
