First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested two different mouth rinses containing chlorhexidine (CHX) combined with other ingredients to see if they help reduce dental plaque and gum inflammation better than a placebo rinse. 81 adults used the rinses twice daily along with their normal brushing and flossing. The researchers measured changes in plaque buildup, gum health, and tooth staining, and also asked participants about their satisfaction with the products.
