Mind over muscle: mental training may ease shoulder pain

Summary

This study looks at whether motor imagery training — mentally practicing movements without actually moving — can help people with partial rotator cuff tears feel less pain and move better. About 80 adults will be split into two groups: one gets standard physical therapy, the other adds motor imagery training. Researchers will measure pain, shoulder function, and fear of movement over 8 weeks.
